bourbon barrel aged russian imperial stout
A monarchy of malts and molasses.
-
Nestled in oak bourbon barrels for five months, our Russian Imperial Stout has been aging gracefully into a dark, rich collage of flavours.
Let’s pop the cork…
This 9.2% ale is best enjoyed somewhere between 8-11ºC. As the beer warms, the full depth of flavours emerge so give the bottle a few moments to warm up after refrigeration.
If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to embrace your favourite goblet or chalice, this is it. Grab your glassware and take your place upon your throne (or maybe just your coziest chair.)
Gracefully pour this medium-carbonated ale to reveal the rich, black body brushed with garnet highlights and crowned with a light tan head.
Pause for a moment as the medley of aromas gather at the rim…
The bourbon barrels bestow their signature notes of bourbon, vanilla, and oak on the nose. There’s also an array of rich malty aromas including molasses, treacle, and caramel.
The heavy body and rich mouthfeel deliver the aromas noted above onto the palette with molasses, bourbon, and vanilla flavours holding the power. Hops temper the sweetness and roasted characteristics of the malt leading to a warming finish, of dark malts and wood.
Suggested Food Pairing

Cellar Aging
We suggest sabreing and savouring a bottle for the holidays and saving a second for two years.
