gose

A hazy, salty, citrus-forward sour.

  • Those familiar with this beer style should know our Gose is true to the traditional German process and was brought to a boil ~ but not continuously boiled ~ leaving more proteins and nutrients intact and in turn, a fuller body and flavour.

    ABV – 4.7%
    Ideal Temp – 7-9ºC
    Glass – Tulip
    Vegan – Yes

strawberry kÖlsch

A fresh batch of our clean crisp Kölsch aged on 100kg of strawberries.

  • When you think of a strawberry, you naturally think ‘sweet’ because, like most berries, strawberries contain natural sugars.

But what happens, when the yeast in our beer consumes those sugars to produce alcohol and carbon dioxide?

You’re left with the flavour of strawberry without the sweet taste of the sugars. In the brewing world, our Strawberry Kölsch would be called highly attenuated meaning the fermentable sugars have been mostly or completed fermented. This delivers a drying finish as opposed to a rich or sweet finish.

    ABV
    – 5.3%
    Ideal Temp – 6-8ºC
    Glass – Straight walled tumbler
    Vegan – Yes

    Profile

Strawberry Kölsch pours a hazy orange with a frothy, off-white head. Expect strawberry, light graininess, and honey sweetness aromas on the nose. A light body with moderate carbonation delivers fruity strawberry notes which elevate the clean flavours of an easy-drinking Kölsch without any prominent sweet/syrup characteristics. The finish is crisp and drying.

    Food Pairing

    Salad, pastas, and fresh cheese.

Belgian blonde

A Belgian beer for everyone.

  • ABV – 7%
    Temp – 7-9ºC
    Glass – Sommelier
    Vegan – Yes

As our flagship, our Belgian Blonde is designed to capture the spirit of the Belgian brewing tradition and be enjoyed by everyone. Complex enough to be savoured and accessible enough to be shared.

    PROFILE

If you haven’t already, find your favourite stemmed, tapered glass and seat yourself somewhere comfortable. We personally enjoy pairing this beer with a small group of loved ones under big, golden prairie skies. Pour this medium-bodied ale with confidence then pause as the aromas gather at the rim. Adorned with a pearly head, this beer pours a deep golden colour and is ready when the glass has a mild sweat – somewhere between 7-9ºC is ideal. At 7% ABV, our Belgian Blonde opens with stone fruit and nutty aromas on the nose followed by sweet malt, apricot, and grain flavours on the palette before resolving into a dry finish. We hope you enjoy. Santé!

    FOOD PAIRING

    Oysters, Caesar Salad

    HISTORY

Although the Belgian brewing tradition dates back to the middle ages, this style of beer is a recent development less than 100 years old. The Belgian Blonde was the response of Belgian brewers to the widespread popularity of lager which swept through much of Europe at the turn of the 18th century. It was designed to appeal to European lager and pilsner drinkers while retaining Belgian complexity.

Old Ale x

An aged vintage of our signature rich and dark delicacy, Old Ale X.

  • What’s the X in Old Ale X for?⁣

Nine years ago, our head brewer Mark brewed the first batch of this beer in honour of the birth of his youngest son Alexander – hence the name Ale X (Alex).⁣

From that initial batch, Mark set aside a bottle in his cellar as a gift to Alexander on his 18th birthday, (assuming Mark has the willpower to keep it corked.)⁣

    ⁣⁣

The second reason for the X is the 10% ABV Mark designed into the recipe, allowing the beer to be cellared (similar to wine). Old Ale X is designed to evolve in flavour and appreciate over time in your cellar (up to seven years and counting). We also add live yeast and fermentable sugars into the bottles right before packaging, a process known as bottle conditioning which removes air from the inside of the bottle as the yeast consumes the sugars and produce carbon dioxide.⁣

    ABV – 10%
    Temp – 8-10ºC
    Glass – Snifter
    Vegan – Yes

Our 2018 vintage (retail 31$) is unavailable for purchase at this time.
