Why should I drink from a glass?
How to choose the ‘right’ glass for your beer
There are no hard and fast rules to choosing “the right” glassware, but we’d like to share some ideas which may improve your drinking experience. The one belief we hold stronger than others is that you should enjoy beer from a (clean) glass whenever possible and practical. Trapped in a bottle or can, a beer’s appearance and aromas have little to no opportunity to enhance your experience. Here are some other things to consider…
Tapered glasses reduce the surface area of a beer and gather the aromas near the rim – ideal for Belgian beers.
Short-stemmed glasses encourage you to place your palms near the beer, passively warming it whereas long-stemmed glasses give you the option of keeping the beer cooler – useful depending on the beer style.
Some glasses (such as Pilsner style glasses) are designed to show off the appearance of a beer, usually its clarity.
